ABOUT US
HISTORY: Johnstone Auction Mart Ltd. was established in 1968 at its
current location on Highway #1
at Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. The
business was established by Lloyd, Wayne, and Bill Johnstone
and auction sales started every few weeks with dairy cattle and beef
cattle.
As the business grew, the sales became weekly, and remain that way
to this day.
The business evolved over the next 10-15 years to be more
beef cattle based, with farm machinery
auction sales every year. Purebred
cattle breeders began conducting production sales and dispersals
once a cattle
wash rack and drying barn were built in the early 1980's, and today there are
numerous
annual production female and bull sales.
TODAY: Today, Johnstone Auction Mart Ltd.
has passed its 40th anniversary and is still conducting weekly
auctions of
miscellaneous farm and household items, pigs, sheep, goats, baby calves, and
other cattle.
Horse sales are held 8-9 times per year; special sheep & goat sales are held 5-6 times per
year;
farm machinery
auctions are held in the spring, summer, and fall; and commercial
& purebred cattle
and bull
sales take up much of the time starting in fall until early summer.

and a member of the Saskatchewan Livestock Markets and Order Buyer's Association.
