Exotic Small Animals & Birds

We accept and expect the following types of animals: (normally 600-800 boxes of small animals)

Various breeds of exotic rabbits

Miniature horses, Miniature donkeys, Welsh ponies, etc.

Miniature cattle (Dexters, Lowlines, etc.)

Pot-Belly pigs, Pigmy goats, exotic sheep, etc.

Various types of peafowl, ducks, geese, etc.

Standard, Bantam, and Exotic chickens, Quail, Wild Turkeys, etc.

Homing & other fancy pigeons, doves, love birds, budgies, finches, etc.

Llamas, Emus, Manx cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, chinchillas, etc.

Cages, Feeders, Waterers, other small animal supplies

Seller Information and Terms of Auction:

The animals must be boxed with mesh wire on one side or caged BEFORE they arrive
Sellers, please keep in mind the humane treatment of these animals when boxing/caging
them - don't overcrowd them or put them in cages where they can injure themselves.
Also, if possible put some feed and water in their cage with them, as they will be in the
boxes for the entire day in most cases.

The boxes or cages must be labeled with what and how many are inside

Boxes and cages sell with the animals inside, and boxes will not be opened when sold

Weak boxes or boxes with wet bottoms will be refused - all boxes must be secure

NO UN-BOXED DOGS OR PIGS - if they are not boxed or kenneled, don't bring them

All consignments must arrive by 10:00 AM—doors open for receiving at 7:00 AM.
Nothing will be accepted after 10:30 AM.

Pre-Booking Option:

	Pre-booking fee is $2.63 per box, ($2.50 plus 0.13 GST)
	Pre-booking fee must be received in the mail at least 4 days prior to the auction
	All pre-booked boxes will sell before others not pre-booked with the exception of cold-sensitive birds (hot birds), which sell at the beginning whether pre-booked or not
	Larger animals (i.e. miniature horses, donkeys, llamas, etc.) do not need to be pre-booked - they sell after all boxes
	No refunds will be issued for consignors or boxes which don’t come to the auction
	No extra pre-booking will be allowed for extra boxes brought on sale day

Selling commission:

	Regular selling commission applies whether the boxes are pre-booked or not: Boxed animals 30% on the first $30, 25% on the amount over $30 Larger (not boxed) animals 30% on the first $30, 15% on the amount over $30
	Minimum commission per box is $2.50 (not including any pre-booking fees)
	Minimum commission on larger animals (not boxed) is $10.00 per animal

Sale order:

	Finches, lovebirds, budgies, and other cold-sensitive consignments (12:00 Noon)
	All pre-booked boxes - sold in the order the arrived sale day
	All other boxes - sold in the order they arrived sale day
	Un-boxed larger animals (usually start 5:00 to 7:00)
	Non-exotic animals (sheep, goats, etc.) - all sheep must have national ID tags

Buyer Information and Terms of Auction:
All animals are sold as described by the consignor without warrantee for misrepresentation from
Johnstone Auction Mart Ltd. Payment must be made the day of the auction by cash, cheque (with
sufficient identification), debit or credit card.
